Create an EPC QR code (SEPA)
The EPC code fills a SEPA transfer in the banking app — beneficiary, IBAN and amount are already there. The payer only confirms.
The code follows the European standard EPC069-12. The banking app reads beneficiary name, IBAN, optional BIC, amount and reference and prepares the transfer. That avoids typos in IBAN and amount — the most common mistake with invoices.
The IBAN is checked with the modulo-97 method, the amount normalised to two decimals. Because the code carries many characters, we keep error correction deliberately lower when a logo is active — a logo would otherwise shrink the usable area too much.
Frequently asked questions
Which banking apps support EPC codes?
Most German and Austrian banking apps recognise EPC QR codes during a transfer. The standard is uniform across Europe.
Is money debited immediately?
No. The code only fills the transfer form. The paying person approves and sends it themselves.
Is my bank data safe?
The code is generated in your browser. IBAN and amount are never sent to a server.
